Why Quick Decisions Lead to Success (Even If You Fail First)

Have you ever found yourself frozen, waiting for the “perfect” next step?

Here’s the truth: you will succeed at the speed of your decision making.

This isn’t about hurrying or rushing—it’s about recognizing when your brain is stuck in survival mode. ADHD brains are especially prone to this. When you’re in fight-or-flight, your brain convinces you that moving forward without certainty is dangerous. That little voice whispers: “Don’t act until you’re sure it’s perfect.”

But there are two big problems with waiting for perfection:

  1. There is no such thing as a perfect move.

  2. Waiting for perfection is really just a stall tactic.

As my son Zach once said, “Perfection is a con you play on yourself.” His side hustle making D&D dice, books, and magazines has had plenty of flops—but every mistake taught him something. His products keep improving, and customers love them.

Success requires vulnerability. It’s about testing your ideas, not perfecting them in your head.

The entrepreneurs who thrive are the ones who:

  • Decide quickly and move forward

  • Treat failure as feedback

  • Analyze and pivot

The genius isn’t in making flawless choices—it’s in trusting yourself to adjust after you launch.

If you want to thrive—not just survive—you have to embrace imperfect action.

Fear and scarcity will only slow you down.

Movement and adjustment are what propel you forward.
